Treat your sweet tooth with this gourmet or raise your sibling's envy; this chocolate fudge cake is a must-try!
The what?
Cake:
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract - for the essence
1/3 cup milk
2 tsp coffee in 1/3 cup boiling water
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
1 large egg
Ganache
Heavy Cream 250 ml
Chocolate cubes
Powdered sugar
The how?
1. Whisk the dry ingredients together to an even blend
2. Add veg oil, egg, and milk and whisk it to remove lumps
3. Once we have a good paste, add the boiling water with coffee to the mix and whisk
Disclaimer: Remember that the batter is watery because it's a fudge cake
4. Preheat the Oven to 180 Celsius in convection mode. When the oven starts beeping, we know it's ready to bake, meaning the temp has been reached.
5. Prepare the baking pan before adding the batter: Either use butter paper for the pan or Paste softened butter all over the pan.
5. Now we put the oven in for baking for approx 35-45 mins. Post 35 mins, check the cake's status every 5 mins to determine if it is fully baked.
Trivia: Use a toothpick to check if the cake is baked. When we poke the cake with the toothpick, there shouldn't be any residual batter stuck on it.
Voila, your Chocolate fudge cake is ready!!!
Now onto the Ganache:
1. Heat 250 ml cream in a milk pan at low flame. Keep stirring it to make a thick paste
2. Add chocolate cubes to the cream and keep stirring
3. Heat the mixture at medium flame for not more than 5 mins.
To make it an even thicker ganache-y paste, whisk it away! :)
